The Great War Brought all the Crazies, Even the Supernatural!

This sucked! I had gone months without being caught. I was smart enough to keep changing my disguise and false names, rotating them around so I wouldn't use the same one twice within a month. I knew the risk of using this identity twice in one month, but I was desperate for the money.  I was in the downtown police station in a small holding cell with others waiting on the police to contact my parents.  The small cell crowed for a Monday afternoon, or at least I thought it was, this was my first time ever in any type of cell. I shouldn't be here with the rest of the occupants of the cell. I wasn't on drugs or stealing, technically, but the Government considered what I had done was a form of stealing.

I had to keep pushing the girl next to me off, she was strung out, and her hands kept wandering to my thighs and up. I slapped her hand and pushed her back on the small concrete bench. "Get off!" I pushed her over for the tenth time, she just lazily smiled up at me, "Ah, come on, I was just trying to have some fun." She laughed and fell to the ground. She would have been pretty if, for not all the black eyeliner that smudges around her eyes and down her cheeks, her bright purple hair matted and clumped to her head, but it was the track marks racing up and down her arm and not just marks from a needle but bite marks as well. She was very much human, unlike me, she plopped her butt back on the bench. I stared her down with my pale eyes, which got her attention. She didn't back away in fear like most. "I am not afraid of a little hybrid, I play with bigger fish." She mocked.  I just kept staring and licked my lips.
"I haven't had my daily ration of blood today, do you wish to become my lunch?" I asked as I bent down to mere inches from her face. That got her attention, and she inched away, like many occupants in the small cell.

I could hear one girl murmur, "What the hell, you are supposed to be separated from us." She yelled for a guard, "Hey, we have a crazed, hungry Hybrid in here!" She banged on the metal bars. The male guard spoke from his chair from across the room. "Afraid of a baby hybrid? Maybe you should have thought of the consequences of your actions. Just deal with it!  All the other cells are full today." That shut everyone up, and they gave me more space. I was lying; I did not require blood, but I was hungry. I think my vampire DNA was water down. I never hit that stage to require the need, but they didn't need to know that.

Executioner Mountain

This is just a little bit of a story that I am working on, it's still in the editing stages.

Executioner Mountain

Baylee was tossed into a filthy cell, with only bits of old moldy straw, the last inhabitants leaving feces and urine behind. Wrapping herself up with the worn top layer of her dress to keep her warm. She could feel the dry blood on her cheekbone, where the young lord had hit her out when she refused to give him her body. She had defended herself with the only weapon she had at the time: the chunk of broken glass from the vase that had clattered to ground moments before. She struck and found her mark, his face.

The young Lord now possessed a nice long gash over his right side of his face from his eye down to the corner of his mouth. She was restrained than by the guards, while the young Lord spat at her. “Wench!” He yelled, and with a fist of furry, he slapped her face, the rings on his fingers connecting with bone and ripping her flesh. Blood dripped down onto the ornate rug at her bare feet. Her dress torn at the chest from his earlier attempt to remove her from clothing laid open to reveal the thin shift underneath. The lord came up and yank and a handful of her long hair and forced her face up, she could feel his hot breath and wanted to vomit. Glaring at her with rage filled eyes. “ you are not worth it. “ he spat. “ take her below she will be leaving with the rest of the criminals to the Black Tower at the end of the week.” One of the servants handed him a clean cloth to clot the blood on his face. “I feel  that Mr. Blanchard and I can come up to a new arrangement to pay off your debt, perhaps your younger sister can take your place.”

Forced to now endure the confinements of the dank cell, with the fear of you little sister safety. She never meant for this to happen, she had hoped to fly under the Lord's eye and bid her time here at the plantation. Her sister Lily (half-sister) was sweet and innocent, having nothing to do with their father crimes. Crimes which, were false!

Earlier that day her younger sister Lilly visited her with news of hope and freedom. Baylee was working in the gardens that morning, gathering fresh flowers and herbs for the house when she noticed the young brown haired boy that belongs to one of the cooks. He would bring her and the others water. " Miss, there is someone here to see you, she's out in the courtyard." He flashed her a big smile. Brushing a bright red apple on his shirt sleeve. " She gave me this if I promise to get you quickly."

Excited for new from home Baylee ran to the courtyard. There out in the courtyard awaited her sweet doe-eyed sister Lilly, she was wearing a lavender dress and left her long curly hair half down. Lilly turned in her direction at the sound of her name and greeted her with a warm smile and tears. Baylee didn't get a chance to say goodbye to her sister, but nothing could stop Lilly when she wanted something. No doubt she would find a way to come and visit.

“  I have news that I could not send in writing. Jacob one of fathers captains approached me yesterday.” Not wanting to be overheard Baylee hushed her sister and rushed her over to the cover a large oak tree.
“ He comes with the promise to prove our father's innocents and set you free.” Lilly urgently spoke. Baylee heart lept with this great news, but worry soon crossed her mind. Who else knew of this? She was positive if Thomas knew, this information would never reach important ears.

“ Does anyone else know of Jacob visit?”
Lilly leans her head forward until her forehead touched hers.
“ No, I don’t believe so. He came looking for you and found me. Sara was busy inside going through fathers possessions, fetching anything that might be any value.” Lilly frown at that comment it worried her. Sara and Thomas were looking for any information that could prove her or her fathers innocence.
“What did Jacob know of the situation?” she inquired.
“He has proof that it was one of Thomas men that ran off with Thomas merchandise. Jacob believes that it was a man under Thomas orders that killed our father also.  It wasn’t father that took the loan from Lord Grayson, but Thomas.”

This was bad news, and if anyone gets knowledge of this beforehand, not only her but Lilly and Jacob life were at risk. Thomas was the one with the large debt to Lord Grayson, not having the merchandise to sell and pay the loan off, he found a way to make her father take the blame and with him gone the debt fell to the oldest, which was her. Thomas couldn’t be attached to her name without dragging his down too. So he found a way to call off their engagement and let her take the blame. She learned all lot about Thomas true character in the past few weeks that she hadn't known prior to their engagement. What she didn't understand was what Sara to gain from it all?

Lilly quickly pulled out two items from her pocket one was a letter and the other a small book.“ Jacob gave me this letter and said it was for your eyes only.”
The letter had the official seal of her father brand an anchor intertwined with a lily. She carefully broke the seal and unfolded the letter.

The letter was written in her father’s hand, it was his will, naming all of his ships to her. The letter was signed and witness. Lilly quickly tucked the small book into her hands.
“ I took this before Sara could toss it in the fire. I found this  among your mother's things.”

Baylee gathered up her skirts to tuck the items into the hidden pocket she had sewn into the under layers o her shift. It was a very clever way of hiding money from Sara, who was ever spending it on things that didn’t matter.

That was this morning, much had changed in a matter of hours. Wiping away her tears, now her hope of proven hers and her fathers' innocence laid dead by Lord Grayson hands.

Selection of Lost and Found- Keigan

He dumped her back into her small prison of a room. His eyes had changed from the electric blue to a stormy grey, she almost thought she saw lighting flash in his eyes. The barrier whooshed closed behind him. Enclosing them both in her room, it was suddenly much more smaller than before.

Angrily he spoke “ I have half a mind to lock you up in the cells below. “he was looking down at her from her spot on the floor. He was massive and she could feel the anger roll off him in waves. Glaring down at her "I am still not positive that I will not toss you into a holding cell.” He stood inches from her, looming over her making her feel small.

She was sick and tired of being treated like this. He ignored her, force her into a world of physical combat and never listen to one word she had to say to him. Neither of them had asked to be in the position, if she was given a choice, she would have ran given a moment of chance.

From the moment she had been dropped onto this forsaken planet she experiences much hostility from him and his brother. She was fuming too, getting up from her spot on the floor she backed up a few paces. Keigan was looming to close to her liking at the moment. He was trying to dominate the room stepped closer filling the gap. She pushed him in the chest hard, he didn’t budge, he was solid like an unforgiving wall of concrete in both body and mind.

They just stood there glaring at each other, Jane wasn’t sure how long the starred down lasted.
"Is there something else you want?" she fumed. Why was he not leaving?

" You just don’t get it, do you?" Keigan stepping closer arms still crossed. "You put my life at risk, you complicated everything."

How did he manage to blame her for everything, this wasn't her world, hell it wasn't even her planet. She was the one that was dropped out of the sky into this mess, capture and beaten, by his brother his power-hungry brother none the less. Accused of stealing something she no longer even had in her possession. Then Plunked into a tribe war and force to be magically bonded to this ignorant... She didn’t have a clue of the langue, culture, or what was going on, but he did.

"You were the one drunk off your ass, and agreed to this treaty, agreed to this... union. I had no clue what was going on or I would of put a stop to it right there and then!" Jane took a step closer, she had to look up. It was hard to be menacing to someone taller than you but she tried. She wished she was back in the training grounds, she felt as if she could finally knock him down to size. But that's what started this whole agreement in the first place.

The Novice ( working Title)

The nightmares were back, it was the last thing Savanna needed just before the Mage exams. This was her last shot if she couldn’t pass this time around, she would be forced to take a low paying job with the other in magick humans. Of course, her father wouldn’t allow that the Great Maximus would not have his only daughter living in the  “city”.

A loud crash and several cuss words brought her back to the task at hand. Wayland her best friend since she was eight was cussing like a sailor and picking up what was left of the exploded orb. “Savanna, where was your focus?” Her best friend and warlock stood just below her nose, trying to give her his best scorning glaze. But Wayland didn’t have a mean spot in his body to stay mad at her for long. His dark wavy hair tied back at his nape, black tee and blue jeans, the average warlock look. Wayland was anything but average he purposely failed his last exams to stay behind to help her. Savanna wiggle her fingers and the knot came undone and his hair puffed up around his head, like a big cotton ball on his head. “Damn it Sav!, do you know how long it takes to tame this” he was frantically trying to tame his fro back into the smooth knot.

A deep laugh emerged from behind Savanna followed by the arms of her boyfriend David. Chuckling “ I can see this is going quite well. Exploded another orb.” David waved his hand and the pieced floated back together into a solid glass orb. “Shall we give it another go.” Savannah sighed and wiggled out of his embrace and plopped down on the big purple fluffy cushion. “Why bother, I know the spells by heart, if I can’t do this simple spell after three years what’s another hour going to help?” Both guys plopped down beside her. She leaned her head on David solid chest. She was tired and defeated.  Savanna came from a long line of powerful mages...

 Lost and Found
 -Lost-

She was lying in an awkward position, and something was digging into her side. She tried to push herself up with her arm, but hot pain shot from her shoulder down to her hand and gave way to her weight. Opening her eyes she found that her left eye would only open enough to let in a sliver of light. Bright blinding light flooded her other eye. “ ahh!” The light sent instant pain to her head. She mentally ran a check of the rest of her body. Her face felt like she had taken a beaten, using her other hand she felt her face, it felt swollen and the pain spread across her cheekbones down her left side to her chin. At first, she didn’t notice the pain throbbing down her side and her leg, but as she became more aware the more she felt.

She pushed up again, where was she? It felt like she was still in her car. Memories of the accident slowly fluttering in her mind. The rain, getting hit, the car crashing into the canal. The memory came rushing back and it hurt. She tried to open her right eye, blinking a few times the brightness decreased and the blurry objects started to focus into view.
She still wasn’t able to open her left eye very wide. She remembers her airbag going off and trying to block her face from the impact. Broke nose? She tried to remember as much as she could. How long had she been in the car, why was she still in the car? She distinctly remembered breaking the window and escaping the drowning car. Had only a few moments passed? “ HELP!” her voice cracked out. Her throat was dry and very sore again she yelled this time a bit louder. “ HELP, Please.. “ she heard nothing, no sound of rain, rushing water, or of sirens.

In her attempt to get out of the car she remembered cutting the seatbelt, which had caught on something and pin her shoulder back. She must manage to get free of the restraint, she realized that she was lying across the back of the front seats of her car. Her head on the passenger seat and her legs stuck between the seats on the driver's side. Her foot stuck in the steering wheel. The car was lying nose first and she had to rotate her body to brace her back against the passenger seat wiggling her feet free and pushing up. It took everything she had to move that much.

She stared at the back of the car. She rubbed her right eye the best she could without causing pain to surge. She couldn’t comprehend what she was seeing. The back half of her car was missing, and a gold dust was falling off what was left of the roof of her car. She reached out with her right arm, letting the dust fall into her palm of her hand. The golden dust particles were warm and they shimmer in her hand, it was not dust, but sand! How did she land in a sandbank?

Thoughts raced through her mind. She had died, that’s it either that or she was laying in a hospital bed somewhere in a coma and this was her minds way of dealing. But does one feel pain, when you are dead... No not dead it had to be the other, because no part of her mind could rationalize anything else.
She took a deep breath, and pain seized her chest.  She could make sense of this, if she was in a coma, her mind would rationalize the pain that was happening on the outside with the dreamlike state she must be in.

So if she was in a dream-like state, she should be able to control the outcome. Come on she thought ‘wake up, open your eyes.’ She squinted and open her right eye again, but nothing changed. Okay, she thought and swallowed, what little spit she had in her mouth. Water, she needed water. It was getting to be really hot all of a sudden. She had a thermos of water in the car in the car with her at some point in time. She looked around and found that it had rolled up under the glove compartment, along with her purse, the dagger, and her cell phone. Her phone her heart almost leaped out of her chest, and that too hurt. Changing positions she tugged out the thermos, she was lucky it manage to survive the crash still steeled tightly shut. The water was cold and sooth her sore and dry throat.

With her thirst taken care of, she turned her focus on to her phone. The screen was cracked, but it to her surprise it still worked! She had half a battery life left. Her chest tightens as she realized that it had no signal at all. Still clinging to hope she tried to call 911 but got nothing on her end. No dial tone, no sound what so ever. Panic rose, she had to remain calm. A sucking feeling came over her pulling her down and wanted to bury her alive. She needed air, needed to get out of the car. Gravity was still trying to pull her down, it wouldn’t let go of its hold on her, she pulled with everything she had to get out of the car and up over the sand now threating to bury her.

Once outside away from the tight space, she could breathe. Even though breathing was getting very hard for her to do. When she was a kid, she suffered from small cases of asthma. She could still feel the constriction of her chest as it worked it’s way up her windpipe, closing off airways. Every breath was a fight to live, it was like that now.

Wheezing she took note of her surroundings. Well she thought, her mind could think up of some derange things and now it had dumped her right in the middle of a desert, with nothing but golden dust blowing before her eyes.
It was hot too, now outside the protection of the car and the shade it  provided. She could feel it burning against her skin. Go ahead explain this away she thought. She was trapped inside her mind, which dumped her in hell.
