Selection of Lost and Found- Keigan

He dumped her back into her small prison of a room. His eyes had changed from the electric blue to a stormy grey, she almost thought she saw lighting flash in his eyes. The barrier whooshed closed behind him. Enclosing them both in her room, it was suddenly much more smaller than before.

Angrily he spoke “ I have half a mind to lock you up in the cells below. “he was looking down at her from her spot on the floor. He was massive and she could feel the anger roll off him in waves. Glaring down at her "I am still not positive that I will not toss you into a holding cell.” He stood inches from her, looming over her making her feel small.

She was sick and tired of being treated like this. He ignored her, force her into a world of physical combat and never listen to one word she had to say to him. Neither of them had asked to be in the position, if she was given a choice, she would have ran given a moment of chance.

From the moment she had been dropped onto this forsaken planet she experiences much hostility from him and his brother. She was fuming too, getting up from her spot on the floor she backed up a few paces. Keigan was looming to close to her liking at the moment. He was trying to dominate the room stepped closer filling the gap. She pushed him in the chest hard, he didn’t budge, he was solid like an unforgiving wall of concrete in both body and mind.

They just stood there glaring at each other, Jane wasn’t sure how long the starred down lasted.
"Is there something else you want?" she fumed. Why was he not leaving?

" You just don’t get it, do you?" Keigan stepping closer arms still crossed. "You put my life at risk, you complicated everything."

How did he manage to blame her for everything, this wasn't her world, hell it wasn't even her planet. She was the one that was dropped out of the sky into this mess, capture and beaten, by his brother his power-hungry brother none the less. Accused of stealing something she no longer even had in her possession. Then Plunked into a tribe war and force to be magically bonded to this ignorant... She didn’t have a clue of the langue, culture, or what was going on, but he did.

"You were the one drunk off your ass, and agreed to this treaty, agreed to this... union. I had no clue what was going on or I would of put a stop to it right there and then!" Jane took a step closer, she had to look up. It was hard to be menacing to someone taller than you but she tried. She wished she was back in the training grounds, she felt as if she could finally knock him down to size. But that's what started this whole agreement in the first place.

The Novice ( working Title)

The nightmares were back, it was the last thing Savanna needed just before the Mage exams. This was her last shot if she couldn’t pass this time around, she would be forced to take a low paying job with the other in magick humans. Of course, her father wouldn’t allow that the Great Maximus would not have his only daughter living in the  “city”.

A loud crash and several cuss words brought her back to the task at hand. Wayland her best friend since she was eight was cussing like a sailor and picking up what was left of the exploded orb. “Savanna, where was your focus?” Her best friend and warlock stood just below her nose, trying to give her his best scorning glaze. But Wayland didn’t have a mean spot in his body to stay mad at her for long. His dark wavy hair tied back at his nape, black tee and blue jeans, the average warlock look. Wayland was anything but average he purposely failed his last exams to stay behind to help her. Savanna wiggle her fingers and the knot came undone and his hair puffed up around his head, like a big cotton ball on his head. “Damn it Sav!, do you know how long it takes to tame this” he was frantically trying to tame his fro back into the smooth knot.

A deep laugh emerged from behind Savanna followed by the arms of her boyfriend David. Chuckling “ I can see this is going quite well. Exploded another orb.” David waved his hand and the pieced floated back together into a solid glass orb. “Shall we give it another go.” Savannah sighed and wiggled out of his embrace and plopped down on the big purple fluffy cushion. “Why bother, I know the spells by heart, if I can’t do this simple spell after three years what’s another hour going to help?” Both guys plopped down beside her. She leaned her head on David solid chest. She was tired and defeated.  Savanna came from a long line of powerful mages...

 Lost and Found
 -Lost-

She was lying in an awkward position, and something was digging into her side. She tried to push herself up with her arm, but hot pain shot from her shoulder down to her hand and gave way to her weight. Opening her eyes she found that her left eye would only open enough to let in a sliver of light. Bright blinding light flooded her other eye. “ ahh!” The light sent instant pain to her head. She mentally ran a check of the rest of her body. Her face felt like she had taken a beaten, using her other hand she felt her face, it felt swollen and the pain spread across her cheekbones down her left side to her chin. At first, she didn’t notice the pain throbbing down her side and her leg, but as she became more aware the more she felt.

She pushed up again, where was she? It felt like she was still in her car. Memories of the accident slowly fluttering in her mind. The rain, getting hit, the car crashing into the canal. The memory came rushing back and it hurt. She tried to open her right eye, blinking a few times the brightness decreased and the blurry objects started to focus into view.
She still wasn’t able to open her left eye very wide. She remembers her airbag going off and trying to block her face from the impact. Broke nose? She tried to remember as much as she could. How long had she been in the car, why was she still in the car? She distinctly remembered breaking the window and escaping the drowning car. Had only a few moments passed? “ HELP!” her voice cracked out. Her throat was dry and very sore again she yelled this time a bit louder. “ HELP, Please.. “ she heard nothing, no sound of rain, rushing water, or of sirens.

In her attempt to get out of the car she remembered cutting the seatbelt, which had caught on something and pin her shoulder back. She must manage to get free of the restraint, she realized that she was lying across the back of the front seats of her car. Her head on the passenger seat and her legs stuck between the seats on the driver's side. Her foot stuck in the steering wheel. The car was lying nose first and she had to rotate her body to brace her back against the passenger seat wiggling her feet free and pushing up. It took everything she had to move that much.

She stared at the back of the car. She rubbed her right eye the best she could without causing pain to surge. She couldn’t comprehend what she was seeing. The back half of her car was missing, and a gold dust was falling off what was left of the roof of her car. She reached out with her right arm, letting the dust fall into her palm of her hand. The golden dust particles were warm and they shimmer in her hand, it was not dust, but sand! How did she land in a sandbank?

Thoughts raced through her mind. She had died, that’s it either that or she was laying in a hospital bed somewhere in a coma and this was her minds way of dealing. But does one feel pain, when you are dead... No not dead it had to be the other, because no part of her mind could rationalize anything else.
She took a deep breath, and pain seized her chest.  She could make sense of this, if she was in a coma, her mind would rationalize the pain that was happening on the outside with the dreamlike state she must be in.

So if she was in a dream-like state, she should be able to control the outcome. Come on she thought ‘wake up, open your eyes.’ She squinted and open her right eye again, but nothing changed. Okay, she thought and swallowed, what little spit she had in her mouth. Water, she needed water. It was getting to be really hot all of a sudden. She had a thermos of water in the car in the car with her at some point in time. She looked around and found that it had rolled up under the glove compartment, along with her purse, the dagger, and her cell phone. Her phone her heart almost leaped out of her chest, and that too hurt. Changing positions she tugged out the thermos, she was lucky it manage to survive the crash still steeled tightly shut. The water was cold and sooth her sore and dry throat.

With her thirst taken care of, she turned her focus on to her phone. The screen was cracked, but it to her surprise it still worked! She had half a battery life left. Her chest tightens as she realized that it had no signal at all. Still clinging to hope she tried to call 911 but got nothing on her end. No dial tone, no sound what so ever. Panic rose, she had to remain calm. A sucking feeling came over her pulling her down and wanted to bury her alive. She needed air, needed to get out of the car. Gravity was still trying to pull her down, it wouldn’t let go of its hold on her, she pulled with everything she had to get out of the car and up over the sand now threating to bury her.

Once outside away from the tight space, she could breathe. Even though breathing was getting very hard for her to do. When she was a kid, she suffered from small cases of asthma. She could still feel the constriction of her chest as it worked it’s way up her windpipe, closing off airways. Every breath was a fight to live, it was like that now.

Wheezing she took note of her surroundings. Well she thought, her mind could think up of some derange things and now it had dumped her right in the middle of a desert, with nothing but golden dust blowing before her eyes.
It was hot too, now outside the protection of the car and the shade it  provided. She could feel it burning against her skin. Go ahead explain this away she thought. She was trapped inside her mind, which dumped her in hell.

Morgan Story - Chapter One ( unedited version)

“Nothing is something, and something can become nothing.
Change is inventible, everything changes into something or nothing. Change can be slow or it can happen quickly, it can be good or bad. Change is a force in the world that makes everything tick.”- Andrew

Epilog- Dreams:

She was five again, at the beach playing in the sand with her mother. It was a cool day, and not many people were around. A beautiful woman was standing waist deep in the water. She has long red hair, The women placed her hand out, coaxing Morgan to come towards the water's edge to play. Morgan looked around for her mother, but she was not there. She seized the woman’s hand and followed her down into the water. The women continued to bring her deeper and deeper into the water. Morgan tried to break free, but the grip around her wrist is too tight. She couldn’t breathe, and darkness filled her eyes as she was still being pulled deeper into the water.

Morgan woke up struggling to breathe. “It was just a dream,” she said to herself. She got up, went to the bathroom, and turned on the shower. “I might as well get up and head into work early,” She thought. She was never able to go back to sleep after that dream. The strange thing was, Morgan hadn’t dreamed of the red hair woman in a long time. Her mother said that it was her minds way of dealing with her almost drowning when she was five. The memory surged up forcing her to remember that day. She didn’t remember much when she was younger, but she did remember this moment. Her mother loved to take her to the beach and read or play in the sand and sun. It used to be a daily ritual.

The day was warm and many other days, they would sit under the shade of an umbrella while her mother would read Morgan’s favorite story at the time. Morgan had wandered off into the water chasing sea foam while her mother’s attention was taken away for a few seconds. Somehow Morgan had gotten pulled under with the outgoing tide and got tangled in the seaweed. Her mother barely caught the sight of Morgan going under, and she was able to pull her out of the water just in time. Morgan thought back reliving the moment. She was not much older than four or five at the time.
That was the last time Morgan or her family had gone to the beach. Soon after, they moved to Arizona to get far away from the ocean. She never has gotten over the near drowning and had a huge fear of water since.  Her younger sister Kylee, on the other hand, was an excellent swimmer and been trying to convince Morgan to face her fears. Morgan’s progression over her fear of water had been taken in baby steps, but anything larger then a backyard pool was not happening. When she did feel adventurous, she would sit on the steps.

“ I look up and the Goddess smiles down at me, it is then that I know I am blessed.” - Celestia

“The irony in this” she thought as she sat starring out the window of the little cafĂ© she stopped at on her way up to the lake.  The day started off simply enough, with a plan to escape reality.  She had taken the three hour drive up to the mountains the day before to her dad’s cabin he kept up north the property; It was nice and close to the lake.  She was remembering the last time they came up here as a family, spending the day. Her sister was swimming and trying to convince her to come into the water. Shortly after that day their life changed.

It was nice, calm and peaceful here. She watched as the sun was setting behind the mountain peaks reflecting rays of fiery light down below on the water. Tonight she decided that her life was going to change here again…

testing changes

I made the mistake of letting my daughter use my google account for her personal use. I thought that this way I could monitor everything she was doing  online. Little did I think how this would work when this is the very same account that is attached to my design, blog and personal email. So now I am rethinking of how to best approach this issue. She is  still to young to have her own account and I don't want to go through the pain of setting up and linking a new profile.

Like most I am a Harry Potter fan, for some reason this quote resinates with me. I like to consider myself a creative person and I tend to live in my head all lot. Sometimes I wish that my daydreams was my reality and I can get caught up and I forget about what's going on around me. All lot of times my attempt to write down these daydreams I end up getting hung up on how bad my spelling and grammar gets or how would the character would respond and I never get my story written.

I created this banner as a reminder.  I am thinking about having something like this as a tattoo so I will always have this to remind me.

Of the Ocean - The past

The irony in this she thought as she sat starring out the window of the little cafĂ© she stopped at on her way up to the lake. The day started off simply enough, with a plan to escape reality. She had taken the three hour drive up to the mountains the day before to her dad’s cabin he kept up north the property was nice and close to the lake. She was remembering the last time they came up here as a family, spending the day. Her sister was swimming and trying to convince her to come into the water. Shortly after that day their life changed. It was nice here calm and peaceful she watch as the sun was setting behind the mountain peaks reflecting rays of fiery light down below on the water. Tonight she decided that her life was going to change here again…

His sister decided that she wanted to stop at the quaint little eatery on their way into town. They been driving for eight hours straight and “one can only survive on junk food for so long” his sister said. His sister was making small talk with their overly friendly waitress. Looking around the small rustic eatery there were only a few customers about they could be described as the trucker types. That’s when he spotted her she was sitting in a booth at the far corner of the room. The light was dimmer over on that side of the room and she was halfway in the dark. She was sitting there stirring the spoon in her drink just looking out the window as if lost in thought. Her hair was dark and pulled back in one of those messy ponytails; she looked as if she was tired, weary. “Hello… hey I am talking.” Ouch… why did you kick me?” “I was asking you if you were ready to leave and you...” she stopped talking and turn to notice the girl that her brother was staring at. “Oh.” She sighed. The girl had gotten up dropped some money on the table and turned to leave. She waited till the girl had walked past their booth and out the door. She looked at her brother they both were silent for a few minutes. “Ready “he said as he placed cash into the black folder the waitress and they left. He notice as the girl passed them that she had black circles under her eyes and they both felt the depression rolling off her, but there was something else too. “What is she?” his sister nudged him as they walked out the door. The girl was still there just sitting in her car. She elbow her brother “ okay I am going to drive up to the scenic view and take some pictures, I know that you want to go play hero, just call me when you are ready to leave.” She gave him a hug and a quick kiss to his cheek turned and walked back into the little restaurant. The girl started her car and he watched her pull out of the parking lot and turned left he followed.

Standing out on the bridge looking over the lake the sun had set and it was dark out. No city lights to outshine the stars. She was sitting on the concrete fence that was put up to keep on lookers from going to close to the edge. The place was quiet out, not many travelers come up here during the fall months. So she was pretty much alone here just how she wanted it to be. Here where she could think of all the negative things that happened in her life the past year. She was mentally putting them into a box and closing it up tight.

In her hand she held what was literally a small box. It was time to move on, time to say goodbye…. She was startled by the sounds of footsteps nearby. A voice from behind her spoke “it’s not recommended to sit on the ledge like that.” The voice was male with a hint of an accent to it. She turned to see where the person was. He was just a few feet to her right. He was wearing jeans and a black hoodie over his head. “Mind if I join you?” not giving her a chance to answer he hopped up next to her. They sat there not saying a word just watching the stars twinkle in the water below. She almost forgot that he was there, when he spoke. “I don’t know what happened in your life to have brought you here to this place, but you should know that ending it here isn’t the way. No matter what has happened, you don’t have to let end this way.” He was silent just sitting next to her. She was silent because the tears were building up in her eyes, her throat was swelling and she knew that if she tried to speak right at that moment she would break down and lose her courage.

He placed his hand on her shoulder. “I am not going to stop you but if this is what you choose.” His hand left her shoulder and he turned and jumped down. She spoke then “That’s not what I am here for...” she could hear the gravel stop crunching. She took a deep breath turn and got down off the fence. She knew he could see the tears rolling down her face. He was still there looking at her, his face hidden in the shadows created by the hood. “ I am here for this” she open her hand showing him the black ring box in her hand before she turned and threw the box over the ledge into the night. “I am here to say goodbye to an old life and move on with a new one.” When she turned around he was gone... and so was the past.

Selections of Chapter 1- LOST and FOUND ( working title)

Before I thought I was lost. Now I know what that means.  I was never lost until I was thrown into a world not my own, this is where I found myself.

The day was dark and overcast it was threatening to storm,  most of the time it never hit and just blew over.

Jane was in the antique shop picking up a collectible six-shooter for her husband’s birthday. She was waiting for the clerk to wrap up the purchase when something glistens and caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. Walking over to the shelf she found the object, it was an odd dagger. There was a little info card lying next to it title " Dagger of Light. Jane waved the clerk over and question her about the dagger.

“ This little beauty was buried in the back room, who knows how long it’s been sitting back there collecting dust. I just put it out on the self-yesterday.” The clerk said when she pulled the dagger out of the cabinet for Jane to see. The clerk was very enthusiastic and smiled at Jane cheerily.

The handle was silver in a hexagonal shape with runic symbols engraved down the side of the handle. Very unique Jane thought. The blade was made out of cut stone which, looked like blue glass that glowed when the light shone through it, hexagon at the base and tapered to a thin tip and the top. The blade itself was roughly 3’5 inches. The dagger didn’t look like it was practical to use. Jane asked the clerk what she knew about it.

“ I believe it was a prop made for some low budget movie.” The clerk replied, hopeful to add to her sale, she handed Jane the info card. She and her husband love to collect swords and weapon replica and thought the dagger would make a great addition to their collection. Her husband mainly collected guns, she had a love for swords and such. The info card the clerk gave her, didn’t have much information on it, besides the name and the last known owner Kelley production, movie prop was all it said. There was something about this dagger that interested her enough. She added to her purchase.

By the time she left the store, the weather had taken a nasty turn. The sky grew to a purple-grey and with it a  promised of a downpour. Driving in rain was never Jane's idea of a fun time people just didn't know how to drive in it since it only rained one week out of the year. Ten minutes into it the rain turn to hail and the visibility decreased. Jane pulled over to the side of the road and turned off her headlights not wanting other drivers to run into her. She dug out her cell phone to text her husband that she was going to head home instead and wait out the storm.

She put her phone back in her purse that she placed on the passenger seat along with her purchase. Turning on her headlights, she was preparing to merge back onto the road when a load WHACK and a strong jolt knocked her and the car forward. Her head had snapped forward the jolt was enough to force it caused the airbag to deploy. She had no time to react before getting hit in the face with the airbag. Another jolt from behind sent the car spinning, the care was jolted again and the car lurched forward, the car was pushed off the bridge into the canal which, was a good half mile away from where she had pulled over. The right front of the car was in the water tilted on side blocked just enough to keep it from sliding the rest of the way in. When the airbag released she tried to protect her face with her arm, but the force was enough to slam her arm right into her nose with a loud crack sending instant pain rushing to her nose, head, neck, and shoulder. The hit was enough to cause her to black out.

Jane slowly opened her eyes and tried to blink, her eye was already swelling shut. She was disoriented hanging from her seatbelt as the car must have moved, still tilted to its side more of the car was submerge in the pouring rain the water was quickly rising.  Jane listen to her surrounding, he could hear the rain still pounding on the top of the car, but no sirens that she could make out yet. It was the rain blacking out any light. The cold was starting to wrap around her body. Assessing her situation Jane felt a sharp pain across her stomach, the seatbelt somehow got hung up and was cutting into her stomach. Trapped between the airbag and her belt with the water quickly rising and the car slowly sank further into the water. She tried to reach her purse, which had fallen to the floor on the passenger side just out of her reach.

She releases the seatbelt it loosens up but to get caught on something, which left part of the belt still wrapped around her shoulder. She reached for her purse again, catching the steering wheel. The wheel turn causing the tire to move and the car slide further into the canal now was hood deep into the water. She didn't know how long she had before the water would start seeping in. She reached again and grabbed her purse fumbling for her phone, seeing the neatly wrapped box with the dagger. She quickly unwrapped it, the car jerked and the car was halfway under the water,  the jolt pushed her forward and the blade slices her hand. Surprisingly the blade was sharp blood dripped down the blade to the handle. Jane didn't have time to be concerned about the deep cut this point she just hopes it was sharp enough to shred through the seat belt.

Water started to creep in the floor of the car and Jane's heart speed up with panic. The airbag was hindering her movement taking the blade pressed the blade against the bag hoping it would just release slowly like a balloon. The air slowly releases giving her breathing room. She had no signal on her phone, calling out for help was no use.

Jane needed to calm herself so she could think, she tried to take deep calming breaths to lower her racing heart and the panic at bay. Her chest was tight with slight pain which didn't help. Jane could now finally hear sirens in the distance. The water pushed against the car trying to carry the car off as it rage all around the vehicle. She couldn’t wait for help; she needed to get out of the car now.

“Please, whoever watching over me let me get out of this alive.” She prayed silently. The dagger still in her hand, she thought that the tip might just be strong enough to crack the window. She smashed the dagger with all the strength she had left. The cracked spread and the window broke, cold freezing water pushing through as she took a deep breath and wiggle her way out. The current in the canal was strong that she fought against it. It spun her around until she didn't know which way was up. A bright light flashed in her face, temporally blinding her and giving her direction, but she hadn't taken in enough air her.  Her leg caught on something and she couldn't get free of its hold on her. She jerked her leg up and her pant leg tearing setting her free, the darkness swallowing her whole.

Do you dream in color?

Do you dream in color? Do your dreams play-out like a story or a movie?

I am a day dreamer and characters like to tell their stories to me in my dreams. Sometimes they bother me until I have a whole complete plot. The kicker is whenever I go to write it down I get tongue tied, if that is possible.

Sometimes they leave me alone for months at a time, but they are always at the back of my mind.
I was never a great grammar student and I think that I get hung up on my spelling and grammar and fear that their stories will  never get down on paper, but I have manage a few humble beginnings.

Here are few short ramblings of what I have going on, if you like what you read and like more let me know by commenting.

Never Have I Ever...

Never have I ever, thought I would grow to be a middle age women with no direct path insight, but here I am stumbling along trying to find my way.

Once upon a time there was this little girl never to thought to be born. Her parents never thought it was possible for them to have children. It was a risk for both mother and child, but here I am born a whole month early.

I was never the one to like to do as I was told, always impatient to have my way which, was true to the fact on the day I was born. I was born late in the afternoon on Samhain. My parents loved me I was their little miracle! This is a story told through a loving mothers eyes.
